As for which brand is better, I have no idea. While strolling around Senado Square, I sampled a few and bought some that tasted decent. In fact, as you continue along the road leading to Senado Square, there are countless stores selling dried meat. They all look pretty similar, so it’s hard to differentiate. Maybe even the locals in Macau don’t buy this stuff, as it's likely aimed at tourists.
Macau’s dried meat is thickly sliced, with a chewy texture and bold, flavorful seasoning. The taste leans towards the heavy side, so you can’t eat too much at once—unless paired with a drink. It makes a great snack with alcohol. I've heard the beef jerky is quite good, but I didn’t get to try it myself. I only tasted the pork jerky, which was pretty enjoyable. It's satisfying to eat, but definitely not in large quantities.
