Whether dining in or taking out, you’ll need to queue (unless you're ordering stir-fried pork noodles or fried rice—then you can go straight to the owner to order; otherwise, you must line up). The reason for the wait is that the owner’s wife single-handedly takes orders and prepares the food. This is also why the prices are so affordable—the owners save on labor costs, which is reflected in the pricing. Despite the hard work, they persist because they want everyone who comes to leave full without spending too much. It's practically a blessing! After all, you won’t find prices like these anywhere else in Taipei.

When ordering, the owner’s wife always asks if you’re dining in or taking out. If you’re taking out, she’ll ask when you plan to eat it and will provide instructions on how to store and enjoy it. She patiently explains this to every customer. Many customers order multiple packs to take away, which also contributes to the longer wait times. It’s best to be mentally prepared—waiting in line will take a while.

As for the environment, don’t expect too much. There’s chili sauce and wasabi on the tables for self-service.

Customers who order large portions and can’t finish them might even get scolded by the owner, who advises them to order smaller portions next time to avoid wasting food. Before coming, you might wonder just how big the large portion could really be—is it as exaggerated as people say? But when you actually see it, you’ll be shocked—it’s truly massive, much larger than the large portions at other places, almost twice the size!

Most men will struggle to finish, and even they might not be able to. Although you can get refills on the miso soup, the truth is, after finishing a large portion of cold noodles and the soup, you’ll be too full to even consider refills.
