Baishatun Food | Dongbei Xiangbaba, Rich Northeast Flavor

The Baishatun dongbei Xiang Baba  has moved to a new location, closer to Gongtian Temple. I found out about this from Google Maps. When I visited in early 2024, it was still in an alley next to a parking lot. However, after looking at the photos of the new location, it seems that the environment is slightly better and more noticeable. Besides the Xiang Baba, they also sell fire biscuits. Anyway, they claim to be from Northeast China! How many people have been to Northeast China? And who has tried this snack in Northeast China? Please leave a comment and let us know! Is it really the same as in Northeast China?

Personally, I find the fire biscuits to be just average. Without adding ingredients, they really don't stand out. However, their sauerkraut flavor is quite good. The biscuits themselves lack distinctiveness; the ones I had with roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) in China were much tastier. The biscuits are actually somewhat similar to those used in roujiamo.

The Northeast Xiang Baba is worth a try. It’s somewhat similar to Taiwan's oyster omelet (o-a-chian), but thinner. The crust is crispy, and the filling is heavily seasoned. The crust is thin and flaky. Overall, it's pretty good!
