Aunt Su's Pizza House | Queue-worthy Delights near Taipei's Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall

Even though I thought I had never been there to eat, I have no impression at all, but Aunt Su's Pizza House feels so familiar. It has been across from the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall for over 30 years, right? Every time I pass by, I always see a long line of people waiting. You have to wait until everyone in your group arrives before you can go in. I've tried to make plans several times before but they never worked out. Finally, this time, I managed to set a time with my family. But after we got in, my mom said, "I think we've been here a long, long time ago." I was wondering why I had no recollection, turns out she was talking about when I was a child.

There aren't many types of pizza, but they are all classic varieties at Aunt Su's Pizza House. You can also choose the type of crust you prefer, whether it's thin, fluffy, or thick. The toppings on the pizza can also be adjusted to your liking. If there are toppings you don't eat, you can replace them. If you're indecisive, you can order the combination pizza and remove the toppings you don't eat, which will cover almost all the flavor choices available.

Is this sauce a bit different from other pizza places? It feels very familiar, yet pleasantly down-to-earth.

The salad has a Taiwanese touch, even though it's served with Thousand Island dressing. It's very dainty!

The soup is a bit disappointing, not hot enough. The taste is just like the familiar corn chowder from childhood.

Do they look somewhat alike? One is the Combo and the other is Seafood, and the difference lies in the thickness of the crust. Both are small in size. At first glance, the toppings on the pizzas look abundant and plentiful, almost a 1:1 ratio with the crust, if not more. It doesn't make you feel like you're eating mostly crust. Are they particularly distinctive in taste? Not really, but they're definitely not unpleasant. There's a Taiwanese twist to the pizza experience.

The fried chicken is a must-try; the flavor is genuinely impressive. The outer coating is crispy without being greasy, while the meat inside remains tender and juicy. The seasoning is also well-balanced, requiring no additional seasoning powder. Fried chicken is also a must-order at every table, and its surprise factor surpasses that of the pizza. It feels like Aunt Su's Pizza House opened at a time when there weren't as many foreign pizza chains in Taiwan, making it one of the earliest establishments of its kind. The restaurant's interior style is also quite intriguing, with a nostalgic early-era vibe!
