It's rare for my younger brother to recommend a place for a family gathering. Usually, he's quite lazy when it comes to making choices and just waits to be fed. It's probably because he's not picky about food and can accept almost any type of cuisine or cooking style. The advantage of this is that we can frequently try different types of restaurants. It doesn't have to be just Taiwanese or Chinese cuisine; that would be a bit boring.

According to my brother, his friend always goes to Pikul ture Thai whenever they visit Taipei. So, he recommended it to us. It was funny because the person who recommended it doesn't even live in Taipei. But not only did they recommend the restaurant, they even suggested specific dishes. Hahaha!

Pikul ture Thai is said to be a brand established by the Louisa Coffee Group, and the name itself indicates that it serves Thai cuisine. Should we make a reservation? We are planning to go during the holiday period, but it seems that Taipei is less crowded than we expected. However, when we arrived, we found that there were still seats available even without a reservation. Maybe it's related to the location of the restaurant. It's not a place people would purposely visit, so they might not think of coming here. Even though there's a Wu Pao Chun bakery in front, it partially blocks the view.

This rice bucket looks good. Oops! It seems like the emphasis is in the wrong place.

Stir-fried pork, a wickedly delicious dish to accompany rice. It's quite spicy for those who can't handle spicy food.

Green papaya seafood salad is also a bit spicy, but it's fresh, refreshing, and appetizing.

Coconut Green Curry Chicken, need I say more? A Thai meal is incomplete without curry. This dish uses a rare variety of eggplant not commonly found in Taiwan. It used to be occasionally available on the market, but in limited quantities! The coconut flavor is rich and intense.

Personally, I find this shrimp cake to be average. It lacks sincerity and richness, leaving a somewhat empty feeling when eating it. Although the shrimp filling is indeed fresh, I wouldn't highly recommend it.

Originally, we wanted to order the classic Tom Yum seafood soup. However, my mom got scared by the spiciness of the previous dishes. So, we ended up changing to a non-spicy soup, the Thai basil pork meatball soup. It's very light, without excessive seasoning. The meatballs are actually quite ordinary, but the basil leaves provide a nice touch. Looking at it from a different perspective, it's a good way to cleanse the palate after the heavy and flavorful dishes earlier. Although I still prefer to order the Tom Yum seafood soup, hahaha.

Momo Chacha is back online. This is the dessert that my mom always orders whenever we have Thai cuisine. She almost always gets it whenever she sees it on the menu. Overall, the dining environment and service experience are good, and the atmosphere is relaxed. In terms of price, it's slightly expensive, and I remember it being a bit pricier compared to Momo Chacha in the Wanhua District. However, the taste does have some subtle differences compared to the one in Wanhua. It's quite interesting how each location can have its own loyal supporters.
