Daan Forest Park is located in the center of downtown Taipei. It is one of the parks of Zhongda in downtown Taipei. It is also the most accessible park. Since its opening in 1994, it has been a popular park until now. Every year from March to April is the rhododendron season in full bloom. April to May is the firefly season, so you can see the night light falling in the park. Occasionally there are public performances on the open-air music stage. The most memorable one would be the concert held here on Mayday that year.
Daan Forest Park (Chinese: 大安森林公園) is a public park near the centre of the Da'an District of Taipei, Taiwan. The park occupies twenty-six hectares and is bordered on its north, south, east and west by Xinyi Road(信義路), Heping E. Road (和平東路), Jianguo S. Road(建國南路) and Xinsheng S. Road(新生南路), respectively. The park is used by residents of Taipei as a green activity space and for various outdoor activities. The park was created in 1994 after the eviction of longtime squatters and the demolition of illegal buildings on municipal land, not by mayor Chen Shui-bian, as is often cited, but by his predecessor, Huang Ta-chou.
During the azalea season, many elders come here to take pictures. You can also see that there are regular staff tidying up the flowerbeds. But there are enough people. It is quite difficult to enjoy so much leisurely and comfortably. There were loud voices shouting everywhere, and then clumps of people gathered to take pictures. But after leaving the rhododendron area, it is peaceful again.
