Visiting Macau? You Can't Miss Andrew's Egg Tarts!

Thinking of Macau, Andrew’s Egg Tarts always come to mind! But why do I have this impression? Was it because of a TV show or something else? I can’t quite remember. During my first trip to Macau, I didn’t have the chance to try Andrew’s Egg Tarts due to a tight schedule. Back then, there weren’t as many branches, and I even considered visiting the original store just to taste one. That would have been so cool, but unfortunately, it didn’t happen. Later, my family visited Macau, tried the egg tarts a few times, and said they were delicious. They insisted that having at least one is a must when visiting Macau. Wait, you guys don’t even like sweet foods that much—how did Andrew’s Egg Tarts win you over?

On the first day, I went to the Andrew’s branch at The Venetian, but to my dismay, the last batch of egg tarts was snatched up right before my eyes by other customers. Watching them enjoy the tarts was such a complicated feeling—if only I hadn’t seen it! But seeing it, not being able to buy it, and worse, watching others eat it? That was pure torture!

The next day, we went to Rua do Cunha. Even though there was a long line, nothing could stop us from queuing up. Otherwise, we’d miss out again since we were heading to Hong Kong in the afternoon. Thankfully, the line moved quickly, and in less than 15 minutes, I finally got my hands on the much-anticipated egg tarts. Holding the freshly baked Andrew’s Egg Tarts, the aroma was incredible. That first bite, while they were still warm, was utterly satisfying. The rich custard flavor, the flaky crust—it wasn’t overly sweet or greasy, just perfect. I immediately regretted not buying more because one was definitely not enough!
